SpringHill Suites Houston Sugar Land offers a spacious and modern stay designed for both business and leisure travelers. With all-suite accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and easy access to Sugar Land’s top attractions, this hotel provides comfort and convenience for any stay.
This property offers spacious suites and friendly service, but guests frequently report severe pest issues, inadequate housekeeping, and poor breakfast quality that have significantly impacted recent stays.
So, I'll try to give you my honest review of this property, not an angry one. I hope this helps others, as we were completely surprised when we stayed at this hotel; based on their prior reviews, we had something else in mind. Let's start with the positive - - We got a 2 Queen suite this past weekend, and we think it was a nice, spacious room. I wanted to give their rooms 4 stars, but I'm deducting one star for having a weird smell outside the room. It felt a bit muggy and damp, but it wasn't bad enough that we couldn't stay. The size was great for a 4-person family, and the room's cleanliness was okay—not great, but for a 2.5- to 3-star hotel, it was acceptable. - Beds were comfortable. Now, let's discuss what really surprised us - - We are a Gold Elite member, and I've never had issues getting a little extra time for check-out. I understand if fully booked, but we only asked for an extra 30-60 minutes. It wasn't the no that caught us off guard, but the lady or manager working at the front desk was extremely rude and didn’t care. I'm surprised to see front desk managers like this in the customer service industry. - Food - don’t be deceived by the "continental breakfast" - juices were automatically diluted. The machine added about 75% water to the juice. When I asked them to look into this, it tasted bad—they said this is what the manager approved, and they couldn’t do anything about it. It was like drinking 25% juice and 75% water. Eggs were half-cooked and seemed underdone, bread was stale, and potatoes looked like they were from two days ago. Everything else was terrible; my kids, wife, and I had to drive back to another city and stop somewhere for breakfast. I think the coffee was fresh. Overall, I think the service was horrible, and the food was terrible, but the rooms were decent. I would stay at other places and pay more, since you have to stop somewhere for breakfast. This was my first and last stay there.
The hotel service was amazing! The view wasn't the best but that's ok! The pool was really fun a bit small but kid friendly! 5 stars for me! The hotel even comes with a couch with a pullout bed, and the sheets are in a closet with a extra pillow! Surprisingly the pull out bed was quite comfortable. Definitely recommend for short term or long term trips. The shower was also great! 5 STARS!!! Written by an 11 year old.
Booked prepaid for 12/27-12/28. I called 12/27 to see if I can transfer, the lady was nice and told it can transferred and I said I will call again. I called 12/28 around 9am coz I was tending to my sick daughter the night before. But I didnt know about the no show policy. No show policy is not in the rate list when I booked in Bonvoy app. I have no idea there was no show policy until I called today and my second night room is gone. My money is gone WITHOUT an email or text warnings, in todays world of more advance technology. There are NO clear communication or warning about the no show. Miriam and Manager Evelyn is no help at all. No care at all! Miriam make me wait a lot of time in the line. Doesnt sound nice and doesnt know how to deescalate this issue. And why would they assume guest know about no-show policy if it nowhere in the rate list? The Manager doesnt know exactly what is the time of the effectivity of no-show, even told me to go look in the website. Dont work in customer service job if you cant handle it well. 12/29/2025 response: I dont believe it is fair coz it is PAID. Will never book any stay ln this location ever.
Checked in on Saturday with family for two nights. What a wonderful service and professionalism by Ms. Miriam Orona at the front desk. So kind to provide concierge service: recommendation to the Lopez for dinner and it was delicious! Congrats to Ms. Evan Alexander, GM, for having such a fabulous team member representing the Marriott brand. Will be back next year!
Upon arrival found issue with mini fridge and it was dealt with immediately. Room was comfortable, minor room repairs needed but did not affect stay. Location and price point was great.
I recently stayed here and had a great experience. Check-in was seamless, and the room service is impeccable (provided every other day). Breakfast is available with a few good options. Note that you need to pay and do your own laundry, but overall, the stay was very comfortable. While it’s not a luxury hotel, I would still give it five stars for the excellent service and convenience.
The hotel overall was decent. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff during the day were very welcoming and helpful, which I really appreciated. The room itself was okay, but the temperature was a bit of an issue — it felt cold at first, but then at night it got too warm and I kept tossing and turning. Also, while the service earlier in the day was great, the night audit staff could be a little snappy, which made late-night interactions less pleasant. Overall, not a bad stay, but there are definitely some areas that could be improved.
Do Not Book Here Update: while I'm still waiting for the charge for the room to drop off my account, I went back to the reviews left by other guests to see what I missed and I'm so glad I left that place. The good reviews must be paid for because this hotel has had bedbug and roach problems being reported for years but clearly nothing has been done. This has tainted my view of the quality of the Marriott brand. ........... I wish I could give a better review. We booked this hotel to be closer to the stadium for a concert because I live an hour away. When we got back from the concert there was a roach crawling on the counter in the kitchen area. I was so grossed out I checked out immediately and drove the hour home just to not have to sleep with bugs. Wish I could get my money back because it totally defeated the purpose of getting the room in the first place. This hotel needs immediate attention
The rooms were spacious with a huge closet. Definitely would be great for someone doing an extended stay. Downside is the shower had low pressure and the layout of the room left the tv in a bit of an awkward spot. Beds were medium comfort, not the best, not the worst. AC left one half of the room icy cold but the other half stayed warm.
I spent the morning of May 15, 2025 at the Springhill Suites Houston Sugar Land 13434 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478 US. My husband was having a surgical procedure nearby, and as I am 75 years old, I needed a comfortable place to wait rather than the waiting room at the doctor's office. I want to share with you the kindness and friendliness of your desk clerk and staff. They were very accommodating and as they were cleaning up after breakfast, she even offered me a breakfast sandwich. My husband and I usually stay at Springfield Suites when we travel. I must say, this staff was some of the friendliest I have ever met. I will keep this location in mind when we have out of town company.
